The following are the most Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.). They are organized by subject. Please select the subject that your question refers to below to see the Frequently Asked Questions. If you have a question that is not answered below, please ask us through the contact page.
- 1. How long will it take to get my order?
- Orders are shipped within 1 week.
- 2. Does LEF accept credit card payments?
- Yes, LEF does accept credit cards. You can select Credit Card/PayPal from a drop down menu when completeing the Billing section of the checkout process.
- 3. What method of payments does LEF accept?
- LEF accepts purchase orders on all orders over $88.00 We also accept credit cards, business checks, and personal checks.
- 4. Are your books hardcover?
- Our books are soft cover.
- 5. Can I fax you my order?
- Yes, LEF accepts orders by fax as long as you are using a Purchase Order. Please include a completed order form from our website along with the purchase order and fax them to (610) 436-6288. If you are using a check or money order, please mail those to us along with a completed order form.
- 6. What is the shipping cost?
- The shipping, handling, and administrative charge for most sets is $15.00 per set. The exceptions are:
• The Reading Resource Project: $88.00 per set
• Classroom Reading Supplements: $6.00 per set
• 36 Book Spanish Sets: $6.00 per set
• Alphabet Sets $6.00 per set
• 100 Book Spanish Sets: $9.00 per set
- 7. What if I do not like the books that I receive from LEF? Can I return them?
- Books can be returned for a refund (less a restocking fee of $20 per collection). Shipping, handling, and administrative costs on free books will not be refunded. The entire set of books must be returned in order to obtain a refund. All returns must be within 30 days of receipt. Partial set returns will be considered a donation of books. All book returns must be sent to LEF at 1311 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382
- 8. If you used book rate mailing, would that save on my shipping costs?
- No, LEF only uses Fed-Ex and larger orders are sent by truck.
- 9. Does LEF have any text books available?
- 10. Can I use our RIF money to pay for LEF books?
- No, LEF is not a RIF vendor.
- 11. What carrier do you use to ship your books?
- Literacy Empowerment Foundation uses FedEx Ground to ship its orders. Very large orders will be sent via tractor trailer truck.
- 12. Can someone come and pick up the books from your warehouse?
- No. Our insurance policy does not allow that procedure.
- 13. Can I order multiple copies of each book in a particular set?
- Most of the sets at LEF offer multiple copies of books. Check with the description of each set.
- 14. How many Emergent Reader books are in a set?
- There are 90 Emergent Reader books in the set.
- 15. How many books are in a set of Reading Resource Project books?
- There are 100 books in each Reading Resource Project set.
- 16. Can I order Reading Resource Project books and split the grade levels (one half second grade and on half third grade)?
- No, all orders must be for complete individual grade levels that are indicated on the Reading Resource Project Order Form.
- 17. I have a pre-school. What program would you suggest I buy books from?
- Reading Resource Project Grade Pre-K sets are appropriate for a pre-school.
- 18. Can I request not to receive books about Santa Claus, Halloween, etc.?
- LEF sets may include books with holidays. People needing specific titles should go to www.Wilbooks.com.
- 19. How many of the same books might I get in the Reading Resource Project?
- There are at least 10 different titles in a set of Reading Resource Project books.
- 20. How old are your non-fiction books?
- None of our nonfiction books are more than 5 years old
- 21. Can private day care centers or a home schoolers use LEF programs?
- Yes. They can use any LEF program.
- 22. Is there a quantity discount for larger orders?
- LEF has decided it is most equitable to offer all clients, regardless of size, the same low price.
- 23. I would like to add more books to my school library. Are these books suitable for school libraries?
- Reading Resource Project books are NOT suited for libraries. Reading Resource Project books are ideal for reading incentive, book ownership and book reward programs. Most or all of RRP books are soft cover.
- 24. Are any of the books you offer included in specific reading programs i.e. Accelerated Reader, Success For All, Four Block, etc.?
- 25. Can I get a list of the free books?
- Unfortunately, we can not provide a list of every Reading Resource book because each set is different depending on what titles were available when the books were packed. To view some of the books that may be used in the Reading Resource Project please go to the Matching Book Grant section of the site. There you can click on the individual titles in each collection and view the books page by page. If you need to choose your titles the Matching Book Grant offers you this flexibility.
- 26. I used to order through the Reading Recycling Project. What happened to that program?
- It was replaced by a much better program called the Reading Resource Project. The price for each set in this program is the same as the Reading Recycling Project.
